Welcome to San Paolo

By: Samir | August 29th, 2009

Guys, first to say is that even if up there it says Athletic Bilbao, the blog has changed, it will be called FM OFFSIDE- THE NEW CHALLENGER as soon as I can…

Welcome to San Paolo guys! I am the new Napoli (imaginary) manager in FM09 and in this post I wanted to introduce a story that I will be living with all of you guys, getting Napoli to be a great team! Napoli\'s shirt

Let’s talk about me first! (Don’t worry, it will be only a short introduction, nothing like: “My house is this big and my computer is this fast!”) My name is Samir, I won’t tell you how old I am now, but I will when I will have some confidence with you guys!! I live in the Dominican Republic but my mother is italian! My favourite team has always been Ac Milan and obviously the Azzurri! And I can tell you guys, if in this blog you will get to see up to 2 new posts per day is completely Daryl’s fault, because he was the one who made me buy Football Manager 09. I also want to tell him that he is the best and I am really really sorry that he wants to stop writing for his FM blog…(And I am sure you readers agree with me that he is a great writer!) I also want to say to Dhaw that I don’t think Roma could have done so good in FM09 if he wasn’t managing it!

Ok, so after having talked about me and writing compliments for Daryl and Dhaw, let’s talk about (my) Napoli! First of all, some history of the team:

The team was founded in 1926 and it currently plays its games at Stadio San Paolo di Napoli. It has won two Serie A, 1987 and 1990, and won an historic Uefa Cup in 1989. Let’s say it, someway, I am honoured to be managing this team.

Ok, let’s get to the important thing, my (imaginary) Napoli career. In FM06, I trained Napoli in the Serie C, and in Football Manager Handheld 07, 08, 09, I always played with Napoli, and I need to say I always did good in this old saves, and when I first bought FM09, I started a career with Napoli, in which I got to 2011, and I won a Coppa Italia and finished second in a Serie A Competition! Now, I start this new adventure, but with one difference, I am going to tell what happens in this adventure to you guys…. So let’s start, here’s what happened when the new game was finally created:

The first new was from president Aurelio De Laurentiis, he welcomed me to San Paolo and told me that my contract will last until June 2010 and it was worth 6,500 euros per week. And, trying not to exaggerate: THANKS A LOT PRESIDENT, I LOVE YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! Oops, I think I did exaggerate, sorry!

My ass. man told me that the I need to heavily strengthen the squad and I (sigh!) agree with him, and told me that Maggio was the best player in the team, and I am proud to say that I agree with him, again!

Here’s an image of my team:

Here’s an image of what for now is my best XI:

But I need to consider that Daniele Mannini, Fabio Santacroce, Mariano Bogliacino and Marcelo Zalayeta are injured, and they are all key players who could substitute the team you have just seen….

So, let’s get start this adventure, remember, crying is ok! Bye, will continue posting as soon as I can…. Oh, and I need to tell you I have started playing in the save without the blog still haven’t been created, so until the eigth post the blog won’t be that interesting because the posts were written without the blog still haven’t been created….

Though Napoli and Roma are rivals and on many occasions I have wished they “crash and burn” but keeping that aside I hope you do a much much better job with the this talented outfit and once and for all let the world know that Donadoni is crap.

Good Luck and welcome to FM Blog.

    Cheers

    Samir,

Only Daryl can help you with the name change. Give him a day or two and hopefully it should be done.
